A couple weekends ago, I took a 2 day trip to New York. Of course, the fashion in New York always amazes me. You really never see so many well dressed people in one place (especially well dressed men!) Our first night there we strolled around Greenwich village, where I stopped in at one of my favorite stores, Pinkyotto. What's great about this place is that there aren't just racks and racks of duplicated clothing in every size. You're lucky if there's 2 of one garment! Everything is original. There's actually one on 156 Newbury Street:
We also went by the Rag & Bone store. My favorite items in the store were the shoes! They were great! Here's my failed attempt at photographing the sidewalk in front of the store...

The next day we started by hitting the Chelsea Flea Market. This place is insane. There are millions of venders and packed warehouses full of everything you could ever dream of. A hipsters paradise, if you will. I enjoyed every second of it, especially the people watching. I wish I had had the guts to take more photos, but here are some, as well as some random jewelry I found there...
But my favorite part of the trip by far was going into Brooklyn. I'd never been before, so we ventured into Williamsburg. The thrift stores there are pretty amazing. One store we stopped in, called Shown to Scale, is one of the best finds I've ever seen. It's a pretty small store run by two young woman. I was expecting it to be just another expensive boutique, but when I started looking at the prices, I couldn't believe it. One of the young women told me they never raised prices on items they bought from other designers like most boutiques do. They also told me that their own personal designs (under the name Shown to Scale) were just picked up by NastyGal which is one of my all time favorite sites. I hope to see them up there soon. I got this great ring and a faux suede jacket from the store:

Anyways, I Love New York! Who couldn't? The street style is just incredible. I kept hoping I'd see Bill Cunningham riding by on his bicycle.
