Looking for Something Out of the Ordinary? Check out Oonas

Oonas, located just outside of Harvard Square (1210 Mass Ave), has been revamped by a former CA alumnae, Eleanor Mueller. Mueller closed Oonas this summer for a renovation, and the new space is now open and organized, while still maintaining it's quirky charm. While Oonas was once a haven for halloween costumes and oversized army jackets, it is now home to some very lovely (and cheap!) vintage clothing. Everything, from fifties dresses to fake fur coats, is intact and immaculate, with prices usually in the twenty to one hundred dollar range. Personally, I found this nice striped shirt on one of the racks outside for a steal at only five dollars.

Dandy heartily suggests that you check out Oonas for some cute fall fashions.

What is Dandy you ask?

Welcome to the 2010/2011 school year. It's been a while since Dandy has posted anything, and we decided a brief reminder of what exactly Dandy is might be helpful. We are Concord Academy's fashion and style blog, and currently we need help. Facing a daunting senior year our editors need articles or photo spreads about anything style related; all you have to do is email Anna Bang or Amelia Fitch with your ideas and it will be easy peasy from there. So welcome freshmen, and welcome back everyone else, embrace your inner style icon and submit to Dandy today!

P.S. Look for us at Club Expo, as we have some wonderful surprises up our sleeves

Commemoration for Alexander Mcqueen

Fashion designer Alexander Mcqueen died last week (Thursday February 11) at age 40. He committed suicide in his London apartment leaving his family, friends, and fans in devastation.
Mcqueen’s imagination inspired a new kind of fashion. He mixed the surreal with the real and created fashion trends that nobody had ever seen before. In the past few days there's been a lot written about Mcqueen, and although it is hard to offer anything new we believed his designs were amazing partly because they dared to be so different. So take a leaf out of the mind of Alexander Mcqueen, do what you feel is beautiful no matter how strange it may seem.

Below a few examples of his most famous collections:
